Urban Assault Ride - Special Ops

We think beer and bikes go together like peanut butter and jelly. We think that it’s just as easy to grab a bike lock on the way out the front door as it is to grab our car keys. We don’t think it’s possible to be too old to ride big wheels. We think a gorilla suit or angel wings are just as suitable as riding gear as bib shorts or arm warmers. We think the streets are more fun when there are more people out on bikes. If you think like us, we’d like you to join us.

The only thing more fun than riding around your bike around the city, solving puzzles, completing obstacles and riding back to the start to drink some delicious New Belgium beer is doing it with over 1,000 of your closest friends! We’re looking for a crew of passionate, excited individuals to spread the word about the Urban Assault Ride! Do you network better than Verizon? Do you have more social media cred than Ashton Kutcher? Do you love the Urban Assault Ride? Put that love to work. We’re looking for a crew of dedicated people to join our Urban Assault Ride Special Ops Team, to help us spread the word, to grow the party and help us support your local non-profit.

To be a good fit with our team, you have to be upbeat, outgoing, and fired up about the Urban Assault Ride.

What does it mean to be a Special Ops Team member?
  • Visit businesses and confirm that our posters are hung up, approach new businesses about hanging the posters and help us grow our database.
  • Work with local businesses and organizations to get their employees and customers to register for the UAR.
  • Use social media to convince your friends and fans to register for the UAR.
  • Attend related events and spread the word about UAR
  • Organize meet-ups to get people to register for the UAR
  • Whatever other creative ideas you come up with for spreading the word.
What do we provide?
  • Cash incentives for getting teams to register for the UAR
  • Urban Assault Ride gear to wear when promoting UAR
  • Training on the history and mission of the Urban Assault Ride
  • Posters to hang at local businesses
  • A unique coupon code that will give registrants a discount on race entry

FAT tires

The good folks over at Surly sent us the demo fleet for the 2012 UAR season. The 1st bike to come out of the box was the Moonlander. It's a SUPER FAT tire bike capable of crushing just about any terrain. The tires are almost 5" wide! The paint  is filled with moon dust sparkles, the drive train is 2x9, it's really hard not to smile while riding this bike.

We can't wait for YOU to ride it at the Urban Assault Ride this season. We'll have this bike along with a bunch of others from the Surly fleet available for your pleasure.
